Hi,Veronica and I are settled in now in Rockaway Beach, New York. Hard to believe that just a month ago, we were leaving our home of 8 years in Portland. One thing remains: we wanted to let you all know how outstanding our experience was working with Daniel Fleischer. Our experience with Daniel was great from the get-go. We needed to move our house quickly, and Daniel laid out a plan to make that happen. His advice on listing price, improvements, and staging were spot on. Daniel DEFINES \”hands on;\” he worked side by side with us as we prepped the house to get it on the market. I wanted to let everyone know what a pleasure it was to work with Teri Toombs as our real estate agent. She came highly recommended and now I know why. Teri was totally on top of it! She was extremely experienced and knowledgeable about the current housing market and was very honest with us on how to price the house correctly to save us from much sorrow down the road. We think of Tracy Dau as our anti-realtor. That is, we were turned off by so many real estate agents who seemed to be all talk that we were considering listing our house on our own. But after we signed on with Tracy, she worked so hard from beginning to end that we found ourselves saying, “THAT was why we needed an agent.” She’s a workaholic. And I mean that in the most positive way. A few examples: She helped us replace a rotten fence post before listing our house, meaning she physically rebuilt our that part of the rotten fence herself. She picked a bunch of flowers from our front yard and made them into a lovely arrangement. She brought a pair of chairs from her own home to stage our front room. She negotiated the sales price of our old house up and the purchase price of our new house down. She went out of her way to turn a failing sewer line — a potential deal-breaker — into a compromise everyone could agree on. Then, weeks after we closed on our new house, she met us at the flooring store to help pick out linoleum. Also, she’s just really nice.

Jaime went way beyond our expectations.  We were first time home buyers and had a very complicated loan as well as additional complications with the sewer system located on the property.  Jaime found the solutions to the problems before we even knew they existed.  She could most likely answer any question regarding party lines in the sewer in any inner NE neighborhood!  She did such an excellent job of communicating with the sellers and their Realtor because we had to extend our close date a couple of times.  She was also a great advocate for us and really went to bat when negotiating our agreement with the sellers.  We would never even think of using another Realtor.  I mean, how can you not love a woman who’s husband randomly sneaks his very old Hulk Hogan doll into the back of her car, just for her clients to get a kick out of! Thanks for all your hard work Jaime!  We love our new home!

Teri Toombs was truly our real estate angel sent straight from the heavens. No lie. Here is our story: Our charming little home sat on the market for almost six months. I wanted to let everyone know that Maureen Swan is the realtor you want to have working on your behalf when buying or selling your home. Upon deciding to buy my first home, I spoke to one of my co-workers who had recently bought his first home. Since I am in the marketing industry, I understand word of mouth marketing can’t be beat and so when he mentioned that his realtor, Maureen, was easy to work with, knowledgeable of the market and someone he felt had his best interest at heart throughout the whole process, I believed she had the qualities I would need as well.

Maureen was fantastic right from the start. Talk about the patience of a Saint. I had lived in a small Oregon town most of my life and then I had moved to Las Vegas so Portland was new to me. She taught me all about Portland, she explained about the different neighborhoods and how they mapped out. I honestly had no idea what I wanted to buy or where in Portland I wanted to live but Maureen led me through it all, showing me more houses then I can recall and never pressuring me to make a decision, until I was ready.

Maureen encouraged me to drive the different areas of Portland, talk to my friends and family but best of all she kept narrowing my field down to what appealed to me the most. Maureen not only drove me all around Portland but welcomed my family on our weekly house hunting expeditions as well.

I saw everything on the market from the west side to the east side, all the way to Milwaukie. I checked out Forest Heights and Hillsdale. I then decided I would enjoy living on the east side where I found myself looking at houses in North Portland, Woodstock, Concordia, you name it, we saw it!

Through it all Maureen never lost her patience with me, provided endless support and always made time to answer my never-ending questions. The depth of information I learned in this time frame amazes me as she taught me a great deal about location, styles of homes and a lot about market values. After seeing and learning so much from her, I started to piece together exactly what it was I wanted to buy, so when I came across it, I knew it was the one for me.

Of course, the one I fell in love with was a bit of a challenge as it was listed for sale by owner but once again, Maureen led the way. She was my champion and also a great asset to the owners who sold me their home. I am now the proud owner of a 1942 cottage in the little community of Kenton and I could not be happier. I now tell all of my family and friends, especially those who are first time homebuyers to use Maureen as their realtor. She was not only the best realtor but she was my champion, my teacher and in the end she became my friend.
