Resources

We have been asked every question imaginable from where to shop, send kids to daycare, crime statistics, home repairs, dog walkers, you name it. We do our best to connect our clients with the right people, answers and services when they need our help.
We have created a resource guide full of the people and phone numbers we turn to when we need those answers. Feel free to download a copy and please let us know if you have a business you think deserves a space within those pages. We update the guide once a year and would be happy to check out your referral.
Living Room Realtors Resource Guide

Gavin Shettler

I moved to Portland, Oregon in January of 1994 from Kansas City, Missouri. Since then, I have watched our city grow and flourish into one of the best places to live in the United States. Portland has all of the amenities of a large city, while maintaining an ease and connectedness of neighborhoods and community that is much more like a small town. I love this about Portland, and feel honored that I have been part of such a place.

My background is in the arts. I am a classically trained musician in voice and cello. In 2000, I became involved in the visual arts—first as an owner of a small art gallery, then founder and director of a non-profit contemporary art center, and finally the creative director of a housing project of live/work spaces for artists called Milepost 5. Over the past decade, I have curated over 150 art shows, developed a wide range of arts programming, facilities development, small business and organizational development, and the production of all types of art events and performances. Today, I continue to curate art exhibitions at Portland Providence Hospital and through Living Room Realtors.

Through all of my work, what I have enjoyed the most is a sense of helping people: helping artists with their vision and careers and helping community members understand art and its importance to our city. Now, as a real estate agent, I am excited to help individuals with the process of home ownership. At Living Room Realtors, I have found a different kind of realty company: one that is focused on community building, personal connections, and individuality where my background in the arts seamlessly connects to my real estate practice.
