New to town and searching out a hip area, very walkable, close to nature? Living on a budget but feel you should not be punished for wanting a tasteful abode? This 1904 farmhouse fits the bill. Just downslope of Mt. Tabor, it takes a mere 10 minutes to walk there. This peaceful, forested retreat will no doubt go on your list of very favorite spots in the city. But wait, there’s more. Montavilla and all that it offers is just blocks away. Country Cat, Ya Hala, and the Bipartisan Cafe are a few of the great restaurants here. Montavilla also has a bakery, the Academy Theater Farmer’s Market on Sundays, a pet shop, community gardens, bike shop, brew pubs and a pizzeria. The Montavilla Community Center has an outdoor pool the kids will drool over. The Taylor Court Market always has exactly what you need. All this and the house too! This home has a big farmhouse kitchen that captures the light and is perfect for cooking parties. High ceilings and scrumptious fir floors and exposed brick chimney evoke a loft-like feeling. Private backyard has a deck and raised garden beds and is perfect for summer barbecues.
